Michael Kitchen

Michael trained at Swindon Dance and LABAN, graduating in 2002. He has trained in a variety of styles including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Hip-Hop. He founded RPM in 2005 and following a DansLab award from Swindon Dance, premiered the Sardines production later in the year. As a dancer, Michael has performed across London with Bollywood Grooves. He is also a member of Paraíso School of Samba, performing in the Notting Hill Carnival and Thames Festival. In January 2008, Michael travelled to Brazil to study Axé dance with Orlando Bayno of Timbauê Cia de Dança.

Theo Alade

Theo began studying Performing Arts at Southwark College. A work placement with the Cholmondeleleys and Featherstonehaughs led him to specialize in dance at LABAN. After graduating he was selected for Transitions Dance Company. Theo has had a varied and extensive career ever since performing with Hakeem Onibudo’s Impact Dance, Irven Lewis Dance Company, D-Physics and Robert Hylton’s Urban Classicism. He has performed at the Breakin’ Convention and Prince’s Trust Urban Music Awards. Theo has also trained extensively with Mestre Guimba, performing and teaching with Capoeira Danca Da Liberdade.

Leila Huwiler

Originally from Switzerland, Leila graduated with a Dance Theatre BA (Hons) from LABAN in 2003. As a dancer with Compagnie Linga and Companya Amazonia, Leila has performed in Portugal, France, Germany and Switzerland, where she won 1st prize in the 2002 International Choreography Awards. In addition to her work with RPM, Leila has taught children’s dance classes at Greenwich Dance Agency and Contemporary Dance at Morley College.

Wayne Walker Allen, Composer

Wayne has been working as a composer and accompanist for dance since 1998. In that time he has worked with Rambert Dance Company, Richard Alston Dance Company, The Graham Company, The Cunningham Company, Motion House, V-TOL, Kokuma Dance Theatre and Moving Visions Dance Theatre. With RPM he has created the soundtracks for the Sardines production and the Flux Youth Dance Project.
