ABOUT US

Founded by Michael Kitchen in 2005, RPM Dance Theatre creates work exploring everyday life, relationships and music from different times and cultures. Accessible to a diverse range of people, the company’s work blends dance with humour and a range of influences from Bollywood to Brazil!

Through performances, youth and community projects, the company has the ultimate aim of encouraging participation and widening the accessibility of dance.

Their first production ‘Sardines’, a narrative piece about a Ghost station, presented at Riverside Studios, The Place Theatre and Swindon Dance, has received excellent reviews:

“Kitchen showed much of Matthew Bourne’s flair for quirky characters as the action, set in a deserted tube station, flipped backwards and forwards from the 1920s to the present day. When the two eras joined together for a barnstorming finale, it was ripping stuff…”
Keith Watson, Dance Critic & Arts Editor – Metro Newspaper
“Sardines brought energy and vitality to the evening as RPM did their darnedest to entertain, musical comedy style…”
Lindsey Clarke, Resolution! Review – The Place Theatre
